In Staying with the Trouble, Donna Haraway writes that cat's cradle is a game of passing and receiving patterns, of holding still to accept what another has made and returning it altered. Presented at the Biennale d'Architecture et de Paysage in Versailles, within 4° Celsius entre toi et moi curated by Sana Frini and Philippe Rahm, the installation takes up this figure. Over a topographic model, visitors weave threads and reposition rods, reframing the design with each gesture. A participatory practice rooted in long-term work with communities in Brazil meets a public that does not contemplate but translates, interprets and takes part in the making.
