About
Located in Apuí, one of the most deforested municipalities of the Amazonas state, the Agroforestry Center is designed as infrastructure for ecological transition. It supports small rural farmers shifting from cattle ranching and coffee monocultures to regenerative agroforestry systems, bringing together research, teaching and daily practice. Developed with the support of the Re:arc Institute, a philanthropic platform backed by the Interogo Foundation, part of the IKEA Foundation, the project integrates program design, climate strategy and architecture into a single long-term framework. It connects the food produced by the collective of small farmers to local schools and markets, securing household income while preserving territory within the arc of deforestation.
